A man in Mason City was arrested for unpaid child support and carrying a Taser without a permit.

Shane Ward reportedly had a taser on his person and threw it into his car before being placed in handcuffs. Iowa state law requires a permit to carry a taser which the deputy learned he did not have.

Ward will now serve three weeks in jail and owes over $330.
