News, Non-Lethal February 26, 2018, Comments Off 0A Kentucky senator introduced a bill to apply non-lethal weapons programs in schools statewide. This comes to the forefront after the mass shooting in Florida just weeks ago.
Local new’s site, Paducha Sun reported, “State Sen. Danny Carroll (R-Paducah) is the sole sponsor of Senate Bill 162. It would allow school districts to implement a safety response program using weapons and ammunition selected from a Kentucky State Police-approved list that includes rubber bullets, rubber buckshot, bean bag shotguns, stun guns, tranquillizer guns and other devices.
The weapons and ammunition would be placed in locked storage, and at least one bulletproof vest and a “wearable item” to identify response team volunteers would be required at each storage site, according to the most recent draft of the bill.”
