Police Taser Wrong Person In Pursuit Of Disturbed Man

Police were responding to a call of a disturbed man in Crown Heights, when they stopped the wrong person. Shortly after interacting with him, they Tased him.
New York Daily News reported, “They thought that he was emotionally disturbed based on his actions and based on the description. They went to try and take him into custody. He resisted. They used a Taser to get him into custody.”
Cheif of the Police Department is defending the actions of his fellow officers. While the public, not so much.
“They had the intersection blocked with four Jeeps and a control car,” said Shania Seldy, 26. “He was on the corner. They Tased him and he went down. A guy came running from the street and he said, ‘Officer, you got the wrong guy.’ But they didn’t care. They put him in the ambulance and they took him away.”
