Kalamazoo, MI – School trustees debated the justification of the use of a Taser on a 15 year-old-student who was engaged in a lunch room fist fight.  The matter came up at a School Board Meeting after the mother of the teen challenged the District to take a position.  She told Trustees during the meeting that since viewing a video of the event, it’s clear to her that her son was already subdued and had been restrained by school security staff, and the decision by the officer to shooting him with the Taser was excessive.
