Grocery Chain, HEB announced Monday that their security teams would be adding a few new members to their force: K-9s. The level-3 and level-4 company does in fact carry firearms, but wanted another non-lethal option to add to its force.

Assistant Chief Michael Alanis said, “Anytime we can have added security, we welcome it.”

He continued by saying, “They’ll be the first ones there, sometimes, so we’ll rely on them and they’ll rely on us.”

The new security team is anticipated to start protecting as early as today.
