A 57 year-old woman traveled from Cocoa Beach, Florida to Stafford County, Virginia and pulled into a Walmart parking lot. Once there, she sat inside her car and pulled out a gun, began talking to herself and waving the gun as if to threaten the police.

Police have seen this before. This is a clear attempt at “suicide by cop”.

Police pilots decided to fly two drones to monitor the woman and ensure the safety of officers. The camera on these drones allowed police to see what exactly she had in her car. This enabled police to take the proper action to get the woman to leave her car and go into custody without any injury.
